About Us
What started out as a small BBQ helping only a few groups turned into what we now have today, the Concert Under the Stars. Herb has always been a supporter of all types of charities from medical, gangs, arts, educational and drug rehab, and donates religiously every year covering all expenses charities net millions. Yet at some point he felt he should do more. So his question was, how to help many groups all at the same time? This is when he came up with the brilliant idea of hosting picnic's and gourmet food and entertainment to help raise funds for local charities. I wasn't until almost 5 years ago did this idea blossom into the Concert Under the Stars which now helps over 150 charities raise money for their cause. Not only are these groups local to the Claremont area, but with the spead of such a successful fundraiser, groups flocked from all over. We now have groups expanding all the way to Riverside County, Los Angeles, and Long Beach.
So here we are, another concert year under our belt and it get's better every year in 2008 we had 10,000. Welcome all newcomers and I hope this website keeps you well informed!
How it Works
If you are new to our picnic/concerts you will be thrilled to find out that every participating 501(c)(3) charity gets to keep 100% of every $55.00 ticket sold by your groups. No wonder last year we sold out. This year will be the same.
This return is possible because the direct cost of the concerts, including ALL costs of entertainment, food, shuttle service, set up and clean up, is donated by the Hafif Family Foundation while the Inland Valley Bulletin contributes the cost of all the printing of advertisements and flyers, and pays for the public relations. Even the rent, secretarial and administrative costs of the Hafif Family Foundation are contributed by the Law Offices of Herbert Hafif. Believe me, your charity has NO EXPENSE! This is a net, net, net project for your goup. No more expensive fancy balls or bake sales - an evening of great food and entertainment in a magical setting where regular folks share a spiritual evening for great causes. You have an easy sell.
Location
Some Charities are now making this event their ONLY fundraiser. Nobody needs to sell unwanted cookies or magazine subscriptions ever again. By participating, you will build organizational strength at an affordable price and help many in the process.
